Meet the (health tech) investor - our new events series 💸; #Tech4Good challenge by RS Components 🍀; Best workplaces for women 2021 📌; Grants for female founders 💰
Weekly newsletter about the latest news and updates on innovation and diversity in wearable tech, health tech, and IoT space.
Happy Monday everyone! 🙂
You asked, and we listened! 🙏🏽
We are thrilled to start this new event season with our new events series “Meet the investor”. There are so many brilliant investors in our WoW community and this is your chance to meet them, learn from them and ask all your burning questions!
Starting from this month, many of you startup founders, with the specific focus on those in the health tech and femtech space, regardless of your fundraising status or not, will be able to hear about top health tech investors in the UK, Europe, US, and globally about all things investment in health tech-related.
Peter Micca, partner, National Health Tech Practice leader at Deloitte & Touche LLP, thinks that for investors, health tech has never been hotter. Investors pumped nearly $15 billion dollars into 372 digital health care deals during the first half of 2021. That tops investments for all of 2020. A decade ago, digital health investments were a fraction of what they are now (fewer than 100 deals and just $1.1 billion in investments). As he mentioned in his January blog, many investors view the post-pandemic era as a multi-year opportunity. Read more about this topic in his recent blog.
We see this as a perfect opportunity to present investors and companies who are part of the WoW community and very passionate about health tech innovation but also strive to achieve more diversity and inclusion in this space, to share their stories, connect with startup founders, expand their portfolio leads and hopefully end up investing in some of our members! 💸
These sessions are envisioned to be a live fireside chat and AMA session crossbreed, meaning you can hear from the investor, how and why they invest, how to pitch them, and ask them any questions.
Join us for the sessions in September and October (more coming soon!) where we will introduce two of our members - Keen Venture Partners and Fermata! 🔥

🙏🏽 Alicia is a MA student that’s conducting research about the luxury fashion rental market. The concept of Collaborative Consumption (CC) under the sharing economy has become a trend in recent years. Fashion rental services are a hot topic these days due to different reasons, for instance, the boom of sharing economy, sustainable consumption awareness, and Covid-19 which has also given a chance for customers to re-think the product ownership. As part of supporting sustainability and the sharing economy, please consider using five minutes to fill out her questionnaire. 🥰
